6. Clinical Supervision and Consultation

When doing so, your case may be discussed in a de-identified manner. All reasonable steps are taken to ensure that your identity and the identities of any associated individuals remain confidential. These discussions occur in accordance with the APS Code of Ethics and the guidelines of the Psychology Board of Australia.

7. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. If any information is inaccurate or outdated, you may request a correction.

Requests should be made in writing and will be responded to within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.

Maplewood Psychology reserves the right to decline requests for access to or correction of personal information, or to limit the information disclosed, where permitted under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If a request is refused or restricted, we will provide an explanation wherever possible. For example, access may be limited if it would unreasonably impact the privacy of others.

If access is granted, a fee may be charged for the time required to review and present the information. In such cases, an appointment will be arranged with your psychologist and standard session fees will apply.

8. Retention and Disposal of Information

We retain client records for a minimum of 7 years from the last date of service (or longer if required by law). For clients under 18, records are kept until the client turns 25.

After this period, records are securely destroyed or permanently deleted.

9. Website and Digital Privacy

When you visit our website, we may collect non-identifying information (e.g. browser type, pages visited) to improve functionality and user experience.

We do not collect identifiable personal information unless it is voluntarily submitted (e.g. via contact forms).

Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.
